Introduction

Our client is a global leader in poultry breeding, supplying high-quality breeding stock to poultry producers worldwide. With a strong focus on animal welfare, biosecurity, and operational excellence, they are seeking an experienced Farm Manager to lead one of their regional New South Wales farming operations.

About this role

As Farm Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the farm. You will lead and develop a team, ensure the highest standards of animal welfare and biosecurity, and drive productivity and continuous improvement across the operation. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a structured, safety-focused agricultural environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily farm operations to meet production, welfare, and quality targets

  • Lead, supervise, and develop farm staff, including rostering and performance management

  • Ensure compliance with Aviagen standards, biosecurity protocols, animal welfare, and WHS requirements

  • Monitor flock health, performance, and environmental conditions, taking corrective action as required

  • Manage farm records, reporting, and audits

  • Coordinate maintenance of sheds, equipment, and infrastructure

  • Liaise with veterinarians, technical teams, and management

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the farm

  • Manage budgets and control operational costs where applicable

Is this you?

  • Demonstrated experience managing poultry, livestock, or intensive animal production systems

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Sound understanding of biosecurity, animal welfare, and workplace safety

  • Practical, solutions-focused approach with strong decision-making ability

  • Ability to work weekends and public holidays as part of an on-call or rotating roster

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Relevant agricultural or animal science qualifications are highly regarded
