Introduction

On behalf of our client - Woodside Energy, a Global Energy Group, Brunel is presently recruiting a Cultural Heritage Adviser to support Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management across the Company's Operations and Projects to a standard which is compliant with agreements, approvals, legislation and operating standards, and engages Traditional Custodians. This will be a 12 month contract located in the Perth OR Karratha.

About this role

You will be responsible for educating and growing the capability of Developments and Production Teams to manage relevant aspects of cultural heritage on site and working across the business to support positive outcomes when dealing with external stakeholders on cultural heritage.

  • Coordinating ethnographic research and managing intangible heritage values
  • Develop and maintain the Company's profile for the management of tangible and intangible cultural heritage
  • Develop and implement heritage projects agreements and ensure assigned heritage work program is delivered within reasonable timeframe and budget
  • Collaborate with other Heritage Professionals and staff to ensure compliance with Company Policies / Procedures, Government legislation and Land Access agreements for all heritage matters
  • Maintain relationships between Woodside and Aboriginal Traditional Owner Groups
  • Build capability across the business to ensure compliance with cultural heritage obligations and good practice in heritage management
  • Support First Nations, Environment and Project approvals and strategies relating to the protection and management of rock art on Murujuga (the Burrup Peninsula)

Is this you?

  • Tertiary qualifications in Anthropology or a related discipline
  • Previous experience within a similar role, preferably within the Resource sector
  • Knowledge of relevant Government legislation
  • Full Drivers' Licence (Manual preferred)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Proven demonstration of adherence to Health & Safety processes and procedures
