Introduction

  • Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply standards and amendments to external standards.
  • Plan and co-ordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet the project requirements.
  • Perform Fiber Optic Link Budget Calculations, Data and Telephony Traffic Analysis, Capacity / Bandwidth Calculations, Public Address Sound Pressure Level Calculations.
  • Telecom Equipment Power Consumption and Heat Load Calculations.
  • Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organizations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organizations to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external OV scheduling activities and effective project delivery.
  • The operation and control of the Telecommunication services either on-premises or provisioned
  • as cloud services that is required to deliver and support the Telecommunication systems needs of a business.
  • Preparation for new or changed services, operation of the change process.
  • Maintenance of regulatory, legal, security and professional standards.

What are you going to do 

  • Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Telecommunication Engineering & Operations.
  • Operating and controlling the installed (or virtual) Telecommunication system hardware and software.
  • The application of Telecommunication infrastructure management tools to automate the provisioning, testing, deployment and monitoring of infrastructure components.
  • Assists in producing outline Telecommunication system designs and specifications covering objectives, scope, features, facilities, management, reliability, resilience, security, constraints (such as performance, resources and cost), hardware, network and software environments, main system functions and information flows, traffic volumes, data load and implementation strategies, phasing of development, requirements not met, and alternatives considered.
  • Takes responsibility for all stages of the life cycle for Telecommunication software/hardware and transmission media development of relatively simple communication systems, including investigation, analysis, specification, design, construction, testing, maintenance, upgrade and migration.
  • Involve the use of multiple Telecommunication hardware and software platforms, and both local and wide area networks.
  • Provides technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures.
  • Ensure the required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed, in work-scopes and whilst conducting Telecommunication Engineering activities.
  • Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices.
  • Conduct Telecommunication Engineering activities and in-house site surveys for projects, from initial concept definition phase through to; engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, pre-comm. and commissioning.
  • Co-ordinate engineering designs, develop and review multi-disciplinary work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure that the work-scope is comprehensive and clear.
  • Configures tools to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed Telecommunication system infrastructure.
  • Contributes to the planning and implementation of Telecommunication system installation and maintenance work associated with the installation as a whole, including building and configuring infrastructure components in virtualized environments.
  • Implements agreed infrastructure changes and maintenance routines, utilizing the appropriate tools and test equipment.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Degree (Related Discipline)
  • Relevant disciplines certificates
  • 10 Year similar experience
  • 15 Years overall experience in oil and gas
