Introduction
We are seeking an experienced Structural and Civil Engineer for our client. This role will contribute to the Pilbara Transmission Project (PTP) by working on the design of substation packages, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Solar Farms.
What are you going to do
The Structural and Civil Engineer will play a crucial role in the detailed design of High Voltage (HV) substations, as well as Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) systems and solar farms for the Pilbara Transmission Project. You will be responsible for producing both 3D and 2D deliverables and will be integral to the successful delivery of this high-profile project.
Reporting directly to the Lead Substation Structural and Civil Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of engineers to ensure the design of substation civil and structural elements meets project specifications, standards, and industry best practices.
Essential skills and knowledge
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed design and drafting of deliverables, including 2D and 3D General Layouts, Civil Layouts, Concrete Foundation Layouts, Structural Details, Underground Culverts and Conduits, Drainage Layouts, and Primary Design Layouts.
- Develop 3D models for substations, ensuring all designs are accurate and aligned with project requirements.
- Produce general arrangement and layout drawings for substation packages.
- Design civil layouts and structural details, including foundations, culverts, and conduits.
- Create drainage layouts and associated design details for substation packages.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations in all design work.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of civil and structural designs with other engineering disciplines.
- Conduct thorough design checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across all deliverables.
- Manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of design quality and safety.
