Introduction

We are partnering with a tier one mining business to appoint an experienced Senior Management Accountant / Finance Business Partner on a 6-month contract based in Perth.

This is a high-impact role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in an operational environment and can combine strong month-end delivery with genuine business partnering

What are you going to do

Working closely with senior leaders and operational stakeholders, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, insightful analysis, and forward-looking support to multiple business units. The role offers exposure to complex operations, fast-paced decision-making, and the opportunity to drive continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly journals and balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end close
  • Delivery of monthly performance reporting, variance analysis, and insightful commentary
  • Financial reporting and analysis supporting multiple operational business units
  • Business partnering with operational leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Providing financial insight and commercial advice to senior leaders to support decision-making
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes, reporting, and systems

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • CA or CPA qualified, or currently completing qualification
  • Strong experience in management accounting or finance business partnering roles
  • Strong understanding of operational cost drivers and production-based environments
  • Proven experience working with SAP and advanced MS Excel
  • Exposure to Anaplan for budgeting and forecasting
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, operationally focused organisation
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly analytical, commercially astute, and delivery focused
  • You must have current right to work in Australia to be considered for this role - sponsorship is not available
