Introduction

On behalf of our client, a Leading Global Energy Service Provider, Brunel is presently sourcing a commercially-minded Management Accountant. You will act as a key financial Business Partner to the Operations, Supply Chain and Finance Teams. To commence as soon as possible, perfect for candidates residing North of the River, Perth.

What are you going to do

  • Lead and finalise monthly management accounts in line with US-GAAP and internal policies
  • Own the month-end close process including preparation and posting of accruals, prepayments, revenue adjustments and intercompany journals
  • Perform detailed variance analysis against budgets and rolling forecasts by product line and country, clearly articulating key drivers and impacts
  • Play a lead role in the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts for the Australasian region
  • Analyse and forecast key business drivers such as rig activity, service utilisation, inventory consumption and labour costs, providing scenario-based insights
  • Partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain and Field Service Teams to support cost control, margin management and job performance
  • Provide financial and commercial input into tenders, pricing decisions, capital investment proposals and ad hoc analysis for Senior Leadership

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline; CA or CPA qualified (or working towards) preferred
  • Proven experience in management accounting or financial reporting, ideally within oilfield services, energy, engineering or industrial environments
  • Strong working knowledge of US-GAAP with experience supporting multi-entity, multi-currency operations
  • 'Hands-on' experience with general ledger management, journals, inter-company accounting, month-end close and management reporting
  • Advanced MS Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with JD Edwards, Hyperion and Power BI will be highly regarded
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, challenge assumptions and deliver forward-looking commercial insights
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to partner with non-finance stakeholders in a fast-paced operational environment
