Introduction

  • Develop, initiate and contribute in planning, execution, commissioning and handover of infrastructure projects to ensure that all Civil Structural Infrastructure is in place to accommodate the anticipated growth of the industrial Cities and their Ports and associated facilities.
  • Facilitate the development and execution of civil/structural aspects of End users / Tenants / investors projects (through the Building Permit process) in Ras Laffan lndustrial City, Ports and Support Services Areas during the execution phases of these projects.
  • Coordinate with concerned End-users tenants/investors, major and minor development firms, Joint Ventures, and other stakeholders to ensure that their development is executed in line with the lndustrial Cities Regulations, Guidelines and Procedures.

What are you going to do 

  • Execute on the behalf of the lndustrial Cities the end infrastructure projects from initiation of the Project lnitiation Notes (PlN) to facilitating Project Commissioning and Handover to the Asset Holder and O&M Department in order to ensure that those projects meet requirements.
  • Contribute in the preparation of the civil and structural conceptual design which is required for the preparation of the Project Development Proposal (PDP).
  • Proactively communicate and follow-up with all relevant Stakeholders to identify and confirm project requirements derived from the Project Objectives stipulated in the PDP to prepare the Statement of Requirements (SOR) and associated drawings and documents.
  • Represent the department on routine basis meetings with the Engineering, Contractors, Consultants, Vendors, operating companies and End-users to resolve technical, implementation, compliance and progress issues and to provide troubleshooting during the project execution phase and control variations in accordance with procedures; Contribute in coordinating the works and schedules of various FEED, ECS and EPIC Contractors working for and other End Users / lndustries to resolve interface and conflict issues.
  • lnitiate and proactively follow-up on updating and incorporating as-built drawings received from and End-users Projects in the overall City's consolidated drawing to ensure all requirements are reflected in the Master Plan of the City.
  • Provide technical support to other sections, divisions and departments and share lessons learnt from previous projects in the related discipline on required basis; Maintain close co- ordination with the other Divisions / Section in the Development Planning and Engineering Department as well as other lndustrial Cities Departments to remain abreast of their activities and to communicate issues so that the concept developments through project completion phase are suitably synchronized.
  • Review and approve the applications for Permit to Work for all civil structural related activities executed by QP contractors/ End-users / Tenants / lnvestors for common areas other than within End-User fenced areas to ensure they adhere strictly to polices and regulations.
  • Review and approve End-users/Tenants/lnvestors Building Permit and technical submissions for off-plot developments, related to Civil/Structural items of work in line with lndustrial Cities' Master Plan and applicable Guidelines, Standards and Regulations.
  • Contribute in identifying, developing and preparing conceptual studies for Civil and Structural items of work, for the necessary common infrastructure or synergy facilities in the lndustrial Cities.
  • Monitor and report on the development of existing End-users/Tenants/lnvestors.
  • Attend progress review, construction coordination, interface, design review meetings, etc. to resolve interface/technical/construction related issues and develop/recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Contributes to maintain and optimize the lndustrial City Master Plan and Land Use Plan, actively contribute in the review of existing procedures, regulations and guidelines related to the Development, Planning and Engineering and recommend amendments.
  • Contribute in the development and implement new "Technical Guidelines" for use by End-users and Projects.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • lnternationally recognized degree B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science in Civil Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of in the design, engineering and construction of civil, structural and projects related to the Oil and Gas lndustry and major lnfrastructure Projects.
  • Past exposure to marine projects is a plus.
  • Exposure and experience in project lifecycle and project management with higlt supervisory skills.
  • Exposure to international experience and an appreciation of cultural sensitivities.
  • Excellent oral and written English, combined with strong presentation and influencing skills.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, exercising a high degree of self-motivation and discipline.
  • Ability to work using strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong "team played' attitude and comfort in working with senior management and a broad range of external parties.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications (including MS Project), Primavera, SAP, and other integrated Civil Design/Application Software
