Introduction

As an Instrument Commissioning Specialist, you will lead and support commissioning activities for all field instrumentation used in process automation, safety systems, and hydrogen handling. This includes configuration, calibration, loop checking, and startup of field devices tied to DCS, PLC, and safety systems.

What are you going to do 

As an Instrument Commissioning Specialist, you will lead and support commissioning activities for all field instrumentation used in process automation, safety systems, and hydrogen handling. This includes configuration, calibration, loop checking, and startup of field devices tied to DCS, PLC, and safety systems.

  • Perform loop checks, calibration, and functionality testing of transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and other field instruments.
  • Review P&IDs, instrument datasheets, and control philosophies to validate system readiness.
  • Support system integration with DCS/PLC, including troubleshooting and validation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and OEMs for specialized instrumentation packages.
  • Ensure instrument commissioning complies with ATEX, IECEx, or equivalent standards for hazardous areas.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Control Engineering.
  • 10-15 years of commissioning experience in upstream, downstream, or both environments.
  • Significant international field experience is preferred.
  • Deep understanding of HART, Profibus, and Foundation Fieldbus protocols.
  • Familiarity with control systems.
  • Fluent in English; Swedish language skills are a bonus.
