Introduction

On behalf of our client, a World Leader within the Energy / Oil & Gas industry, Brunel is presently sourcing a Senior Category Specialist D&C. This will be a 12 month contract located in their Corporate Perth CBD office.

About this role

  • Demonstrated competency in Category Management and end to end Contract Management for both goods and services contracts, ideally in drilling, exploration and subsurface within the oil and gas industry
  • Experience in obtaining approvals within Joint Venture Partner structures
  • A demonstrated ability to deliver cost savings while mitigating business risks
  • Efficiently deliver end-to-end contract management activities in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Lead the end-to-end sourcing to contract process including RFx drafting and issuing, RFx clarifications, commercial evaluation, negotiations, award and contract formation
  • Coordination of contractual, commercial, taxation, insurance and legal issues with relevant internal stakeholders and provide contract advice to relevant end users and stakeholders
  • Accurately and efficiently prepare high quality contractual documentation
  • Manage ongoing contract administration (variations, contractual claims, management of contract expenditure against approved contract ceiling values and other contractual notices)

Is this you?

  • CIPS or equivalent qualification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management; or demonstrable relevant experience in Contracts and Category Management
  • Sound comprehension of the Contracts/Commercial Law and application
  • Competency in using Contract Management systems and ERP systems, ie SAP and SAP Ariba including managing end-to-end sourcing projects and post-award contract administration and ongoing contract hygiene
  • Strong background in contract formulation activities and collaborative stakeholder engagement including navigating approval processes involving Joint Venture Partners
  • Strategic thinker, capable of developing, planning and negotiating commercial outcomes aligned with category strategies
  • Confident organisational skills and ability to deliver high quality outcomes in line with business deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written including MS Office Suite - PowerPoint
  • Ability to independently extract and analyse procurement and contractual information from available systems using Power BI and advanced MS Excel analytics to support recommendations
