Introduction

Exciting opportunity for a QA/QC Inspector to join a leading team in the oil and gas sector. This is a part-time role based in Kewdale, Perth, working Wednesdays and Thursdays for approximately 6 months. Ideal for candidates with strong quality assurance and inspection experience in oilfield equipment and manufacturing environments.

About this role

  • Inspect incoming materials, in-process work, and final products for compliance with industry standards (API, ISO, ASME).
  • Conduct dimensional and visual checks on mechanical/electrical components.
  • Maintain inspection records, ITPs, and NCRs; ensure tools are calibrated.
  • Monitor welding, fabrication, and assembly processes.
  • Participate in audits, root cause analysis, and quality improvements.
  • Liaise with vendors and internal teams to uphold quality standards.

Is this you?

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of QA/QC inspection experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Knowledge of industry standards such as API, ISO 9001, ASME, AWS, etc.
  • Certification in Quality Control (e.g., CSWIP, ASNT Level II, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor) is an advantage.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and software (e.g., micrometers, calipers, CMMs, ERP systems).
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach to working in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, safety-focused environment.
