Brunel has exclusively partnered with a leading Australian energy infrastructure organisation to appoint a Power Business Operations Lead. This role sits in the Operations function and ensures smooth, efficient day-to-day running of the Power business by coordinating business activities, the operating rhythm, management reporting and document control.

Based in Brisbane, this permanent position offers the opportunity to influence key business decisions, lead strategic initiatives, and contribute directly to Australia's energy transition.

Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the Power business unit by managing daily business activities, coordinating operational and management reporting, supporting strategic initiatives, and facilitating workshops and regulatory processes that drive performance and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of call for the Head of Operations to keep business operations running smoothly.
  • Manage the operating rhythm for the sub-business, including meetings, workshops, reviews, and reporting.
  • Oversee business document control, ensuring all records are accurate, accessible, and up to date.
  • Prepare and deliver regular operational and management reports.
  • Triage and action business requests, escalating where necessary.
  • Maintain operating scorecards and performance reporting.
  • Facilitate workshops for the business unit and drive follow-up actions.
  • Provide RIT-T and regulated process support as required.
  • Analyse data and provide insights for continuous improvement

You are a commercially minded operations professional with a proven ability to manage complex business rhythms and support senior leadership. You thrive in environments where you can bring structure, discipline, and clarity to day-to-day operations, while also contributing to strategic planning.

  • Operational background:It will be beneficial for you to have exposure to asset types such as open and combined-cycle gas turbines, reciprocating engines, solar farms, and hybrid or remote power systems.
  • Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of budgets, risk frameworks, and regulatory obligations, with the ability to connect operational detail to business performance outcomes.
  • Organisational skills: Comfortable managing multiple streams of information, documents, and actions simultaneously, ensuring everything is accurate, up to date, and properly communicated.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Proven ability to influence and collaborate with both technical teams and senior leaders, translating complex information into actionable insights.
  • Continuous improvement mindset: Naturally curious, data-driven, and solutions-focused - you look for ways to streamline processes, improve reporting, and deliver greater efficiency.
  • Leadership qualities: Demonstrates accountability, care, and resilience. Capable of leading workshops and coordinating cross-functional teams
