Introduction

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fitter to join our team. This role is responsible for the timely build, repair, servicing, and overhaul of all surface and underground equipment across workshops and operational sites. The successful candidate will also support the development of junior team members and ensure the implementation of diagnostic procedures to maintain equipment quality and operational efficiency.

About this role

As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance, servicing, and repair of surface and underground equipment across mining operations. Drawing on your mechanical expertise, you will support equipment reliability and availability while ensuring all work is performed in line with high safety, quality, and cost standards. You will collaborate with workshop and site teams to deliver key responsibilities, including:

  • Perform maintenance, servicing, and fault-finding on surface and underground equipment
  • Conduct statutory servicing and testing with complete documentation
  • Work across surface, underground, and Perth workshops
  • Ensure high standards of repair quality and cost control
  • Manage daily and weekly maintenance reporting and payroll submission
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining workshop stock and spare parts
  • Train and develop Level 1 and Level 2 Fitters - Drill in technical skills and knowledge
  • Ensure all tasks are conducted in compliance with EHS regulations
  • Proactively identify and report safety hazards

Is this you?

  • Minimum 2+ years trade experience
  • Relevant Australian trade qualification in Fitting / Mechanical
  • Experience with underground and surface mining equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to train and mentor junior personnel
  • Commitment to safety and compliance
