Professional Bachelor

> 10 Years

We're partnering with a Tier 1 mining client to deliver cutting-edge fast-charging infrastructure for heavy mobile equipment. This is a unique opportunity for a talented Mechanical Designer to work on a high-impact, future-focused project. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to create robust, efficient, and innovative mechanical systems using Siemens NX. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and integration of mechanical components and systems into a large-scale, high-voltage mobile charging facility. Your work will play a critical part in the energy transition within mining, supporting electrification and decarbonization efforts. 3D Mechanical Design: Create detailed 3D models of mechanical systems for electric charging units, including structural, enclosures, mounting, and cooling components. System Integration: Work closely with electrical, software, and systems engineers to ensure seamless mechanical integration across all components. Design Interpretation: Translate electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts into mechanical form using Siemens NX (preferred), SolidWorks, or AutoCAD. Detailed Drafting: Produce high-quality 2D drawings for manufacturing and assembly, ensuring alignment with design standards and tolerances. Large Assembly Management: Manage and maintain CAD assemblies with 5,000+ components, ensuring clean structure and accurate data within product data management systems. Design for Manufacture & Assembly (DFM/DFA): Optimise designs to support efficient manufacturing and installation processes. Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate design documentation, including revision tracking, BOMs, and technical notes. Problem Solving: Support prototyping and production stages by identifying and resolving mechanical design issues quickly and effectively. Team Collaboration: Contribute to an inclusive, multi-disciplinary team by sharing expertise and supporting common project goals.
