Introduction

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Perth-based 66kV Electrical Engineer to lead the HV distribution package for a major Pilbara wind farm. You'll own substations, transformers, switchgear, cabling and protection systems across engineering, procurement, installation and commissioning, working closely with EPC, OEM and SCADA teams to deliver a compliant and constructible multi-stage renewable project

About this role

  • Lead the engineering and delivery of the full 66kV distribution system package, including substations, transformers, switchgear, cabling, earthing and protection systems.
  • Develop and review SLDs, technical specifications, datasheets, design calculations, functional descriptions, and construction/commissioning documentation.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces with turbines, SCADA/communications, BOP infrastructure, construction teams, and the network operator to ensure compliance and energisation readiness.
  • Support procurement and vendor management for HV equipment, reviewing designs, managing clarifications, and providing technical assurance.
  • Provide on-site technical guidance during installation, testing, commissioning, defect resolution, and handover to operations

Is this you?

  • Degree-qualified Electrical Engineer (EA-recognised).
  • Significant experience in HV distribution or transmission systems (33-132kV).
  • Strong technical capability across substations, transformers, protection & control, HV switchgear and cable systems.
  • Proven experience delivering engineering packages on major renewable, utility, mining or infrastructure projects.
  • Solid understanding of Australian HV standards (AS/NZS 2067, AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 7000, AS 62271 series, etc.).
  • Experience with wind farm BOP or renewable HV systems (highly desirable).
  • Knowledge of grid connection, protection coordination or power systems studies.
  • Exposure to remote or complex construction environments.
