What are you going to do

Position Overview

The Baytown Refinery Turnaround Mechanical Department is seeking an experienced P6 Scheduler / Planner to support petrochemical turnaround planning and execution activities. This role requires strong turnaround scheduling expertise, extensive field experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with planners, supervisors, and execution teams in a refinery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed Primavera P6 turnaround schedules
  • Support both planning and execution phases of refinery turnarounds
  • Perform field walks to validate scope, identify work items, and confirm sequencing
  • Break down turnaround scope into executable step-out activities for master and detailed schedules
  • Estimate direct work hours and activity durations in coordination with planners and field leadership
  • Track progress, analyze schedule impacts, and identify critical path activities
  • Integrate scheduling and progress data with SAP, Power BI (PBI), and Microsoft Office tools
  • Support change management by incorporating approved scope changes into schedules
  • Participate in schedule reviews, planning meetings, and execution readiness reviews
  • Work closely with mechanical, operations, and construction teams to ensure alignment

Essential skills and knowledge 

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of field experience in refinery or petrochemical turnaround environments
  • 5+ years of hands-on Primavera P6 scheduling experience, specifically supporting turnarounds
  • Strong understanding of mechanical turnaround scopes and execution sequencing
  • Proven ability to perform field walks and scope validation
  • Experience estimating direct work and developing schedule logic and durations
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, SAP, Microsoft Office, and Power BI
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively within diverse teams
