Introduction

We are currently seeking a Senior System Engineer to manage a large on prem Elastic environment at one of our clients in Mechelen.

What are you going to do

As Senior System Engineer you manage a large on prem Elastic environment.

Key responsibilities:

Manage and optimize Linux/server platforms
Maintain and enhance a large on-premise Elastic Search and Elastic APM environment
Analyze technical requirements and translate them into detailed system designs
Assess design options, including trade-offs and impact
Validate and support deployments to ensure compliance with requirements
Use engineering tools to solve technical challenges (capacity management, performance optimization, technology evolution)
Conduct complex incident resolution and root cause analysis
Automate processes with Ansible

On duty call for the systems you are responsible for, can be required.

You'll work 2-3 days on-site in Leuven (or Mechelen), the remaining days working remotely.

Essential skills and knowledge

You are a senior System Engineer with hands-on technical experience and a solution-oriented mindset.

Your profile:

Minimum of 5 years of technical system engineering experience
Strong knowledge of Linux/server administration
Experience with Elastic Search and Elastic APM
Automation experience with Ansible Automation
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
Proactive, responsible, and efficiency-focused

Able and willing to work in an on-call rotation if needed. Fluent in Dutch and English.
