QA/ QC Civil Structure Architect Engineer

Supporting the quality assurance and quality control functions for a high-technology Data Centre project currently in its construction phase. Representing the engineering consultant, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that all civil, structural, and architectural works executed by the contractor strictly comply with the approved design, technical specifications, industry codes, and applicable standards.
Involves close coordination with the construction team, review of technical documents and method statements, site inspections, quality documentation, and reporting of non-conformities where necessary. The engineer will act as the design guardian on-site, verifying construction quality and providing technical oversight to ensure the structural and architectural integrity of the project is maintained throughout its lifecycle. Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to quality are essential for success in this role.
Review and ensure compliance of civil, structural, and architectural works with approved IFC drawings, technical specifications, and relevant codes (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS, SNI).
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, material installation, and construction quality in line with project standards.
Verify contractor submissions, including method statements, material approvals, shop drawings, ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans), and quality records.
Identify, report, and follow up on non-conformities (NCRs), observations, and site quality issues until resolution.
Coordinate with the client's project management team, site supervision team, and design office to resolve technical queries and maintain design integrity.
Ensure proper documentation and traceability of quality inspections, approvals, and field observations throughout the construction phase.
Participate in quality audits, technical meetings, and coordination reviews as required by the project quality plan.
Monitor structural concrete works, finishing materials, façade installation, waterproofing systems, and architectural fit-outs to ensure specification compliance.
Support the handover process by verifying as-built documentation, punch list clearance, and final inspections related to civil and architectural scope.
Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the site team in alignment with project requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline from an accredited university.
Minimum 8 years of experience in QA/QC roles for civil, structural, and architectural scope, preferably on data centre, industrial, factory or high-spec infrastructure projects.
Proven experience working on the consultant side, with strong knowledge of quality control systems, standards, and documentation processes.
Strong familiarity with international building codes and standards (e.g., ACI, ASTM, BS, SNI).
Solid understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and QA/QC procedures related to concrete structures, architectural finishes, waterproofing, and façades.
Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs.
Proficient in QA/QC reporting, non-conformance handling, and quality auditing.
Excellent communication and coordination skills in dealing with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong command of written and spoken English; ability to write formal reports and technical correspondence.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-compliance project environment.
Professional certifications related to QA/QC or construction supervision are an advantage.
