Introduction

We are seeking a motivated Processing Supervisor on a 6-month contract, FIFO from Perth or Karratha to join a high-performing operations team supporting a major Pilbara iron ore operation.This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Operations, and Engineering teams, leading daily processing operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

What are you going to do

As a Processing Supervisor, you will play a critical role in leading daily processing operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance at a major Pilbara iron ore operation. You will work closely with Operations, Electrical, Mechanical, and Engineering teams, ensuring all processing activities are executed effectively, staff are trained and mentored, and resources are managed to meet production targets. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, drive best practice, and the successful delivery of key responsibilities, including:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily processing operations, ensuring workflow efficiency, quality production, and adherence to safety standards

  • Train, mentor, and develop team members to achieve operational and production targets
  • Monitor workflows, manage resources effectively, and allocate staff to meet production requirements
  • Review production performance data and prioritise operational activities to optimise plant output
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance plant efficiency, reliability, and safety
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety, environmental, and operational standards
  • Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to plan and coordinate activities, including critical works or shutdowns
  • Maintain accurate records in SAP or other CMMS platforms to support performance reporting, scheduling, and asset management
  • Support risk assessments and promote a zero-harm culture across the operations team
  • Utilise SCADA systems for monitoring, control, and reporting of operational performace

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Proven experience in a processing or mining operations supervisory role

  • Experience in bulk commodity processing, including iron ore, gold, or other similar minerals
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, risk management, and a zero-harm culture
  • Experience with SAP, CMMS platforms, SCADA, or Scitec systems for production and maintenance management
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Valid Australian licence
  • Ability to provide national police clearance and complete a pre-employment medical
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and team management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
