What are you going to do

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, review and approve mechanical design deliverables (P&IDs, equipment datasheets, layouts, GA drawings).
  • Select and specify rotating equipment, static equipment, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping, pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems.
  • Perform equipment sizing, rating, stress/strength checks, and basic calculations (pressure drop, flow, thermal).
  • Support PSV/relief system design, relief calculations and coordinate with process/safety engineers.
  • Prepare and review piping isometrics, supports, expansion/joint calculations and AIV (access/insulation/valving) lists.
  • Generate procurement specifications, evaluate vendor documents and provide technical clarifications.
  • Perform mechanical integrity, materials selection, corrosion allowance, and NDE requirements.
  • Participate in fabrication, installation and pre-commissioning/commissioning activities; resolve technical queries onsite.
  • Support testing, preservation, turn-over packages and prepare O&M documentation and spares lists.
  • Ensure compliance with project codes/standards (ASME, API, DNV/ABS), HSE requirements and QA/QC procedures.
  • Coordinate with multi-discipline teams (process, piping, structural, electrical, instrument) and contractors.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications & skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 7+ years' relevant FPSO/offshore/oil & gas experience (or 10+ for senior role).
  • Familiarity with ASME, API, DNV/ABS standards and offshore mechanical practice.
  • Proficient in mechanical design tools (e.g., PDMS/AVEVA/E3D, CAESAR II, PV Elite) and MS Office.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and teamwork skills; ability to work offshore as required.
