Introduction

Brunel is currently seeking an experienced Material Logistics Officer (MLO) to support a leading Tier One mining organisation on a short-term FIFO assignment in Western Australia.

This role will work closely with maintenance planning and scheduling teams to ensure materials are available, coordinated and ready for upcoming maintenance activities, while also supporting the day-to-day running of the site materials yard.

What are you going to do

This is a hands-on role requiring someone with strong mine-site MLO experience, sound SAP capability and the ability to step into an established operation and contribute immediately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support weekly maintenance planning and scheduling activities from a materials and logistics perspective.
  • Coordinate, track and stage materials required for planned maintenance work.
  • Use SAP to review material requirements, availability and outstanding items.
  • Identify shortages or material issues that may impact scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Liaise with planners, schedulers, maintenance teams and warehouse personnel.
  • Assist with the day-to-day coordination and organisation of the materials yard.
  • Operate forklifts and telehandlers safely as required.
  • Complete associated MLO administration, reporting and record keeping.
  • Maintain safe storage, housekeeping and material handling practices.
  • Support overall maintenance readiness and efficient execution of planned work.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Previous mine-site Material Logistics Officer / MLO experience - essential.
  • Demonstrated SAP experience within a maintenance, materials or logistics environment.
  • Previous experience supporting weekly maintenance planning and material readiness.
  • Strong organisational and administrative capability.
  • Ability to work effectively with planners, schedulers, supervisors and site logistics personnel.
  • Strong safety focus and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced mining environment.

Mandatory Licences

  • Forklift Licence
  • Telehandler Licence
  • C Class Manual Driver's Licence

Highly Regarded

  • Previous experience working within a Tier One iron ore operation.
  • Previous experience in a similar MLO position supporting maintenance planning and scheduling.
  • Strong exposure to site materials yards, material staging and maintenance work-order readiness.
