Introduction

On behalf of our client, a World Leading Energy Company, Brunel is presently sourcing a HSE Specialist - Emergency Management. The position provides field execution of emergency management processes and safeguards at the LNG Plant. This will be a residential role located in Onslow for a 2 year contract working a Compressed Working Week.

What are you going to do

  • Provide support and leadership to achieve an Incident and Injury Free Workplace through on-site engagements
  • Champion work place safety with a focus on prevent SIFs
  • Proactively share learnings that are related to construction
  • Ensure that the project adopts safety principles of having safe guards in place that are functioning
  • The role provides coaching and guidance in the safe and environmentally responsible execution of work scopes and supports the execution of emergency management practices. In addition, the role also provides day-to-day ERT business partner oversight
  • Providing HSE advice and guidance to Wheatstone Plant Operations, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams with a strong focus on practical application of workforce safety, occupational hygiene, Human and Organisational Performance and environmental compliance
  • Undertaking safeguard assurance verification and validation activities for high-consequence work scopes
  • Facilitating incident investigations and learning events using company approved incident investigation methodologies (eg 5-Whys, SAFE, Why-tree and Learning Teams)
  • Building productive working relationships across HSE, Business Partners and other support teams to facilitate alignment and execution efficiency of HSE activities and processes
  • Facilitating the execution of emergency management processes on-site

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Relevant qualifications in HSE
  • Previous experience in working on an Oil & Gas Facility operating site in Health, Safety And Emergency Management
  • Demonstrated practical application of the Company's control of work and occupational hygiene workforce requirements and relevant Australian HSE legislation (safety and environment) in a field environment
  • Practical understanding of OE management system and Human and Organisational (HOP) concepts, to support fatality and serious incident prevention efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build respectful and trusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders including site leaders and the broader workforce including frontline personnel and business partners
