Introduction

We are currently seeking a skilled Automotive Embedded Software Engineer to join our team. As an Automotive Embedded Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing embedded software solutions for automotive applications.

What are you going to do 

  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and testing systems, subsystems, and components as part of a user story or feature, while considering architectural impacts.
  • Ensures both manual and automated testability in designs.
  • Engages in sprint planning and retrospective meetings as part of scrum rituals.
  • Identifies and resolves obstacles, seeking assistance from the scrum master when necessary.
  • Collaborates with and supports team members to achieve shared goals through teamwork and knowledge sharing.
  • Adheres to the definition of done, minimizes build failures due to integration issues, and responds swiftly to any failures.
  • Challenges existing processes and introduces best software development practices into the automotive sector.
  • Participates in bi-annual hackathons to explore innovative ideas.
  • Reports to the Supervisor of Platform Development – Software Engineering in the role of Embedded Software Engineer.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field—our focus is on software engineers. Applicants with mechanical or mechatronics backgrounds will not be considered. If you believe your education is equivalent, please specify relevant software engineering courses you have completed.
  • Strong soft skills, including teamwork, conflict resolution, managing dependencies, accountability, and self-organization.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt to change.
  • Familiarity with development methodologies such as Agile/Scrum.
  • Willingness to develop software in model-based environments like Simulink.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with a willingness to learn Dutch.
  • A portfolio of projects on GitHub (or similar), which you can present during the interview—these do not need to be automotive-related and can include any software project, such as a mobile app or backend service.
  • Most importantly, a strong willingness to learn and demonstrate perseverance.
