Introduction

We are partnering with a tier-one mining business to source an experienced Electrical Project Engineer for a major high-voltage infrastructure project based at Solomon. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of critical energy infrastructure in the Pilbara region.

What are you going to do 

Reporting directly to the Project Manager - PTP Solomon, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of 220kV transmission line and substation construction works. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of electrical work packages, ensuring safety, quality, and reliability requirements are achieved in line with project timelines and budgets.This role offers the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge green power project within a dynamic site-based team environment.

Duties:

  • Lead the planning and execution of assigned electrical work packages, including scheduling, budgeting and contractor coordination
  • Provide technical oversight, guidance, and troubleshooting to ensure compliance with SoW, design specs, and industry standards
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure delivery excellence across all stages of construction
  • Promote and ensure full compliance with safety protocols and environmental standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including technical reports, project records, and stakeholder communications
  • Monitor project costs, flag variances, and support cost control initiatives

Essential skills and knowledge 

You are an experienced project engineer with a strong background in high-voltage transmission or substation projects. You're confident managing site-based work, engaging with contractors, and ensuring project delivery aligns with technical, safety, and quality benchmarks.

Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience delivering high voltage infrastructure projects (220kV preferred)
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and engineering practices in the mining or energy sector
  • Proven ability to work effectively in site-based roles with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and reporting skills
