This position, based in Bibra Lake, takes you far beyond a typical desk job. You will contribute directly to maintaining Australia's readiness to respond to submarine emergencies, combining technical engineering with operational involvement. Some days you will be refining engineering drawings, registers, and compliance procedures. On others, you will be at sea, working with highly specialised equipment in real-world submarine rescue exercises. Few engineering opportunities offer this kind of variety, impact, and sense of purpose.
To succeed in this role, you will need strong technical foundations in electrical engineering combined with the adaptability to work across complex, regulated, and operational environments. We are looking for someone who thrives on variety and who is as comfortable producing detailed documentation as they are stepping onto a vessel to ensure operational readiness.
This is an engineering role with genuine meaning. You will be working directly on submarines and submarine rescue systems, technology that saves lives and protects Australia's national interests. With the largest submarine programs in the nation's history now ramping up, this contract places you in the perfect position to step into long-term Defence career opportunities. The skills and experience gained here will stand out anywhere in the industry.
