Introduction

  • Manage all construction activities pertaining to the assigned scope of works (Utilities) for the Onplot (and offplot interfaces) from participation in detailed engineering through to construction activities at RLIC Site to handover to the Completion Team in accordance with the Completion Sequence.
  • Ensure close control on the schedule and key Project and Progress Milestones.
  • On Site in Ras Laffan to supervise the construction execution of packages ensuring flawless transition with the pre-commissioning activities.
  • “Start with end in mind” Project, with the necessity to achieve a smooth and flawless construction execution and transfer to the commissioning team to secure first drop LNG from LNG Train 12 and Train 13 Hand-Over at Effective Date plus 60 months.
  • Working in a highly visible Project environment with large capital exposure for contractor, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Working with a Contractor, organized as a Joint Venture, requires additional skills to ensure that the Contractor JV Directorate serves the interests of the Project.
  • This will require a close coordination and interaction with the Project Manager, Area/Division Construction Manager(s), Construction Supervision team and Sub-Contractors (Area General Sub-Contractor and scope specific or specialty Sub-Contractors).
  • Works in a dynamic, multiple locations team environment that has high expectations for flawless Project Execution in safety, quality, cost and schedule performance.

What are you going to do 

  • Review and approve Construction Execution plans, related procedures, specifications, deliverables and progress reporting prepared by the contractor.
  • Undertake complex tasks and acts as a source of guidance to the team and stakeholders by bring solutions and provide support but not generate “micro-management” or unnecessary works to the team and/or the contractor.
  • Identify problems quickly and determine root cause and develop plan to mitigate or resolve them.
  • Utilize a systematic approach to problems solving that ensures accuracy, timeliness and quality of documentation that supports the resolution.
  • Bring technical and execution solutions that favour a safe, but flawless construction execution and transition to commissioning activities.
  • Organize and drive efforts of the team and stakeholders to achieve Project objectives.
  • Work effectively within established procedures and participates in all important meetings and workshops (e.g., weekly and monthly meetings, 3D Model reviews, Constructability, Traffic and Completion Reviews).
  • Guide construction efforts of 5-10,000 workers during construction activities at site works in a large fully integrated but complex project environment in which the incumbent strives to achieve best in class Safety, Health, Environmental & Security performances by creating a culture that encourages everyone to perform their best every day on every task.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing by capturing and communicating lessons learned to support review teams and future projects.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in sciences or engineering
  • Minimum 12 years' experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of management level experience in Construction relayed disciplines, engineering, or project management with overall responsibility for an execution.
  • Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.
  • Broad and extensive knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.
  • Knowledge of onshore facilities as applicable to a project scope.
  • Experience working in large scale organizations in Projects execution
  • Proven track record of Project delivery in the industry and managing contractors and sub-contractors.
  • Excellent track record in construction safety results.
  • IT literacy: Word, Excel, PDF, skills to support reporting, reviewing and communication requirements.
  • Demonstrates sound written and verbal communication skills in English language, other languages are added value.
  • Ability to read and understand approved for construction drawings. Ability to use (Read) Navis works (3D model)
  • Ability to prepare, approve and /or verify plans.
  • Ability to work within document control systems reviewing, consolidating, and approving technical and project documents.
  • Ability to read and translate primavera schedules.
  • Ability to work within advanced work packing systems.
  • Ability to translate design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, specific to onshore LNG facilities and utility systems.
