Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Supervisor for a 12-month contract on a decarbonisation project with a Tier One mining client. You will manage multiple contractors across Pilbara sites, working FIFO from Perth on a 2:1 roster. The role requires ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards, while maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders.

What are you going to do 

We are seeking a Civil Construction Supervisor to oversee multiple contracting teams across key construction projects. Reporting to the Project Superintendent, you'll ensure safe, efficient project delivery to a high standard that meets end-user expectations. You'll be a pivotal site leader, providing technical oversight, ensuring compliance with safety and quality frameworks, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.

Duties:

  • Oversee and coordinate multiple contracting companies and civil construction projects on-site

  • Review and approve Contractor Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and associated documentation
  • Conduct punch list walk-downs to ensure project completion standards are met
  • Interpret and review project drawings to guide accurate execution of civil works
  • Liaise with Superintendents, site teams, contractors, and stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and project delivery
  • Manage simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) and coordinate handovers between multiple contracting teams
  • Lead by example in the field, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with Business Management System (BMS) obligations and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies
  • Participate in training initiatives and promote safety awareness among team members
  • Promptly identify and manage workplace incidents, ensuring appropriate reporting and corrective actions
  • Uphold the company's Code of Conduct and Values, fostering an empowered and collaborative work environment
  • Support the professional development of team members through structured plans, coaching, and mentoring

Essential skills and knowledge 

Requirements:

  • 10 years' experience in construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role within the mining sector.

  • Demonstrated experience in civil works, including earthworks and detailed concrete construction
  • Familiarity with completions management systems and processes
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Comprehensive understanding of Australian standards, regulations, and codes of practice related to HSE and construction
  • Ability to pass the applicable legislation examination as prescribed in the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022
  • Current WA Manual C-Class Driver's Licence
  • Full Australian Working Right
  • Ability to produce a national police clearance within six months and attend a pre-employment medical
