On behalf of our client, a World Leader within the Energy / Oil & Gas industry, Brunel is presently sourcing a Capability Advisor for a 12 month contract based in Aberdeen on a Part-time basis

What are you going to do

Seeking a highly motivated and experienced Capability Advisor to join our team. This role is pivotal to defining the capability needs of the Upstream UK business, designing multi-year delivery plans to drive strategic capability and competence assurance initiatives across the organisation. The successful candidate will lead key programs, engage with a wide variety of internal external stakeholders, and manage governance and digital tools to support continuous improvement. The role will deliver across the entirety of Upstream UK with primary focus on the production and maintenance disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Lead key programs: external apprenticeship and Global Graduate & technical programs.
  • Own the Technician Progression process in line with the Global pay & remuneration policy.
  • Coordinate & facilitate Leadership Team People Connects to drive talent health across the disciplines: succession planning, returning expatriates and emerging opportunities.
  • Participate in external forums including ECITB, OEUK, OPITO and SDS, representing
  • Ownership of governance on Upstream UK competence assurance standards
  • Focus on continuous improvement including:
  • Competence Matrix reviews
  • Staff & contractor competency management
  • Manage digital tools:
  • Power BI Competence Assurance Dashboard (Product Owner)
  • Competency Portal & SharePoint Repository (Site Owner)
  • Champion continuous improvement: Process updates, CI initiatives and stakeholder reviews

Essential skills and knowledge 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in change management and coaching.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with an ability to influence delivery across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong analytic skills and ability to utilise data to drive performance.
  • Experience working with frontline production and maintenance personnel.
  • Familiarity with industry bodies such as OPITO, ECITB, and OEUK
  • Proficiency in digital tools including Power BI and SharePoint
