The purpose of the Mechanical/Piping QC Inspector is to interpret the suitability of products and processes against the designated specification requirements at scheduled and ad-hoc intervals.
Works in accordance with company policies and directives from the QA/QC Engineer
Provides inspection related recommendations on applicable projects activities.
Works within established corporate and industry policies and procedures
Close working relationship with assigned inspection personnel to ensure that they are fully aware of their assigned roles and responsibilities.
Regular meetings with QA/QC Engineer, to discuss ongoing projects and work priorities.
Regular internal contact with construction specialists and project teams to provide advice on project quality related issues.
Works within well-established policies, procedures and standards.
Works under pressure in fast-track Shutdown projects and able to provide professional, concise response to quality related queries/ concerns.
Undertakes investigations and problem solving of a routine and ad- hoc nature, with the more complex issues being elevated to the QA/QC Engineer for advice or decision.
Plans and priorities work within agreed work programs.
Advises internal client user departments on quality and inspection related issues and monitors adherence.
Engage contractors and applicable third-party organizations with a professional approach and maintain a good working level relationship.
Review contractors documented quality deliverables in accordance with the requirements and expectations of Company and provided clear, concise output to the applicable quality focal point.
Evaluate the suitability of products and processes at key stages against the prescribed specification requirements.
Continuously monitor the quality of work in progress at site and at the fabrication workshop against the applicable Company technical specifications.
Ensure that all material and equipment is properly controlled in a manner which prevents degradation of the material properties.
Ensure that contractor processes and procedures are properly and effectively implemented.
Perform material/ equipment site receipt inspection with additional visual and dimensional examination (where practical) to confirm suitability and fit for purpose.
Ensure that the latest revision of project quality documentation is available and that records of product and process conformance are maintained in accordance with the document and record control requirements.
Prepare a daily report summarizing the salient inspection points and quality concerns and coordinate directly with the assigned quality focal point regarding any significant issues identified.
Manage and participate in site quality verification activities (i.e. Quality Walkabout and Procurement Surveillance) and document results using the applicable inspection report template.
Record and facilitate the follow-up of product related non-conformance results.
Recommend topics to be covered during the annual quality training program and prepare discipline quality specific training material when requested by the quality focal point.
Act as the 'eyes and ears' of Company project management team to ensure that Company quality requirements and expectations are fully satisfied.

Mechanical Engineering Diploma (or suitable equivalent) plus recognized Trade Certificates
CSWIP 3.2.2 senior welding inspection certification (RT Interpretation).
NDT certificates such as ASNT level II for the following methods (where applicable): UT, MT, PT and RT film interpretation.
BGAS/NACE Certification
Minimum 8 years of working experience as inspection personnel for Oil & Gas projects, preferably in LNG (Greenfield, Brownfield and Shutdowns).
Experience in inspection activities during procurement, fabrication, installation, hook-up and commissioning of oil and gas production facilities projects.
Familiar with ISO9001 quality assurance principles and practices.
Extensive experience in offshore and onshore installation and testing of piping systems, valves, static and rotating equipment.
Hot-tap experience.
Knowledge of cryogenic service requirements.
Knowledge of ASME, API, ASNT, NACE etc. Codes/ Standards.
Minimum of two (2) years' experience with CRA clad Pipeline/piping projects. Preferably with Alloy 625/825
Preferred experience in PAUT/TOFD
Fluent in both spoken and written English.
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills.
