Introduction

This is a hands on Estimating Manager position where you'll lead tenders from initial review through to final submission while mentoring a small team and driving estimating best practice. The work is focused on water and wastewater infrastructure, including treatment plants, pump stations, network upgrades and associated civil works

What are you going to do

  • Lead the preparation and submission of competitive tenders across water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Develop pricing strategies and commercial submissions for major bids.
  • Manage estimating resources and provide guidance to junior estimators.
  • Review designs, specifications, methodologies and project risks.
  • Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure estimates are practical and deliverable.
  • Participate in bid reviews, value engineering workshops and client presentations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across estimating systems and processes.
  • Support business development activities and early contractor involvement opportunities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Experience as a Senior Estimator or Estimating Lead within civil, utilities or water infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Exposure to both greenfield and brownfield project environments.
  • Ability to manage complex tenders and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify project risks and opportunities.
  • Previous mentoring or leadership experience is advantageous.
  • Engineering, Construction Management or related qualifications preferred.
