Introduction

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join a pharmaceutical manufacturing team. This role involves driving the successful implementation of Manufacturing 4.0 initiatives, managing technical and project management aspects, and ensuring alignment with operational goals. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in digital tool deployment, cross-functional coordination, and change management, as well as a proven ability to deliver complex projects on schedule and within budget.

What are you going to do 

  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, KPIs, and progress reporting.
  • Support governance meetings by preparing materials, capturing action items, and ensuring follow-through
  • Drive alignment across program teams and ensure adherence to the Manufacturing 4.0 roadmap
  • Act as a liaison between cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, IT, and business process owners.
  • Foster collaboration across various communities of practice, such as MES, Kinaxis, and M&S Plan-to-Manufacture teams.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement through effective communication strategies and updates
  • Oversee the deployment of digital tools, such as MES systems, Kinaxis, and iShift.
  • Identify areas for continuous improvement and align solutions with operational excellence goals.
  • Implement change management strategies for smooth adoption of new processes
  • Lead training, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions to support cultural and operational shifts
  • Ensure all project activities comply with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Maintain documentation to support audits and inspections.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or management within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Manufacturing 4.0 programs or similar digital transformation initiatives is a significant advantage.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, complex projects in pharma/life science industries.
  • Expertise in digital tool deployment and IT systems relevant to manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Office Tools)
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and familiarity with MES systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, resources, and schedules effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies; PMI certification is a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including English (French is a plus).
  • Ability to work across cultures and interact with all levels of an organization, from shop floor to senior management.
  • Experience leading change management, with a focus on stakeholder engagement/training.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage ambiguity effectively.
