Introduction

On behalf of our client, we are looking for an Offshore HSE Generalist to join their team offshore on their operating asset. This will be a 12 month contract on a 3:3 roster.

What are you going to do 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel onboard, while maintaining close liaison and support between offshore operations and the onshore asset safety and environment teams.
  • You will provide on-site HSE advice and support for all offshore teams, with a focus on the systematic management of hazards.
  • Additionally, you will offer coaching and leadership on all aspects of S&E for frontline workgroups.
  • You'll be responsible for building strong relationships and creating a work environment where everyone feels comfortable intervening and raising HSE concerns.
  • Coach and influence frontline leaders and operations/maintenance staff with safe work practices, fostering a strong safety culture and positive working relationships.
  • Provide active support on HSE aspects for all offshore work groups to ensure activities are carried out safely with relevant controls in place and with due regard to the environment
  • Act as the focal point for advice/support when planning and monitoring the execution of offshore plant and process activities (e.g., vessel entry)
  • Provide HSE subject matter and regulatory advice to the facility management team
  • Observe and advise on routine work planning (PtW), preparation, risk assessments, etc., for compliance with standards and procedures, particularly those associated with the regulator, NOPSEMA
  • Share safe/unsafe observations from work activities with staff during S&E and toolbox meetings
  • Serve as the focal point for offshore facility HSE inspections, audits, and assurance reviews to maintain Operational Safety Case and environment case compliance
  • Provide S&E coaching and training to Shell and contractor staff
  • Promote, coach, and develop a work culture and behaviour where Assist & Assure is part of the normal daily activities for all staff, contractors, and visitors
  • Initiate planning activities in consultation with platform management and onshore supervisors to cover the highest risk areas
  • Use PtW/short-term activity/SIMOPS plans to gain an overview of upcoming critical activities and plan necessary pre-activity safety and environment briefings/assessments
  • Ensure S&E alerts and packs are properly communicated to frontline staff, and lessons learnt are implemented where relevant
  • Assist the Emergency Response Team with weekly coordination of emergency response drills and exercises
  • Assist the facility management team with the understanding and implementation of HSE improvement plans and new procedures/standards
  • Provide support for incident investigations and reporting into Sphera
  • Provide support and training with fatigue management and heat stress management processes
  • Provide support and advice for the implementation of environmental management controls, including sustaining ISO14001 certification, waste management practices, and EP controls
  • Coach the offshore organisation in the adoption and implementation of human and organisational performance principles and activities
  • Support HSERs with S&E concerns, escalating where necessary
