Reporting to Head of Commissioning Offshore, the Commissioning Mechanical Specialist is responsible for managing mechanical Commissioning during preparation and execution stage of Offshore Project to ensure objectives are safely met within the approved scope and schedule.
Commissioning mechanical Specialist shall ensure that all his scope of work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards applicable.
Accountable for Mechanical Commissioning activities
Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that require effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration
Provide the start-up and performance test support
What are you going to do
Manage all execution of mechanical commissioning activities to achieve commissioning schedule on target with all safety requirements especially during SIMOPS and co-activities
Ensure the mechanical equipment of platform are progressing as per schedule and properly reported in system completion database
Monitor and review the pre-com of critical safety valves
Be accountable for mechanical SECEs to be delivered as per performance standards (lifeboat, cranes, safety valves etc.)
Monitoring and validator of OTP performed offshore
Make sure that the required commissioning mechanical spare parts and special tools are available and ready to use
Lead execution for mechanical commissioning offshore and keep commissioning execution committed to targets defined by the project management
Ensure coordination and communication for site activities with other disciplines such as construction, Hook up and Completion Team and SHE representative and provide technical support with contractor, quality, safety, planning, engineering and start up / performance testing
Review and propose mitigation for commissioning aspects of the Risk Management Plan and monitor the mitigation when defined
Review all commissioning changes, including justification for cost and schedule impacts, in accordance with the PMOC procedure.
Attend to meetings as required, mentor the trainees to develop their project skills and experience while being on site; Maintain a register of lessons learned
Essential skills and knowledge
Engineering degree in mechanical or bachelor’s degree with minimum 10 years experience
Minimum of 10 years of total experiences with at least 6 years demonstrated as commissioning experience in major capital projects
Experiences in high pressure test and gross air leak test
Hands on experiences with motor alignment, troubleshooting vibration issues etc.
Experiences for commissioning execution of critical mechanical equipment (Crane, monorails, lifeboat etc.)
Experience managed contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas project at many locations
Familiar with system completion database ICAPS and OPERCOM methodology
Worldwide commissioning experience with contractors or under companies involved in the commissioning and start up support of Offshore production facilities
Able to be flexible in terms of organization and to cover time to time the needs of project in other locations (such as offshore)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT
Good knowledge on various mechanical equipment (high pressure pumps, hydraulic actuator, PSV, vessels, crane, lifeboat etc.)
Good knowledge of SECE performance for mechanical equipment
Strong knowledge in chemical injection triplex pump
Strong knowledge in Wellhead control panel
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT
A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English
Computer literacy (Excel, PPT, Word etc.)
Experienced with International Standards, OPERCOM and ICAPS
Experienced with Interface coordination and support activities
