Introduction

What are you going to do 

You will be required to execute daily terminal operating activities in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Port Botany Terminal.

This positions is a casual position and hours can vary depending on your availability and availability of hours by the client.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Perform all terminal operations including: shipping, product transfers, tank gauging including stock level calculations, stock control, truck loading operations, operating control systems and loading of packaged goods
  • Performing general tasks such as: preventative maintenance, site and equipment inspection, site documentation, equipment set up and operation of mobile and stationary equipment and site house keeping
  • Participate in LOTO system as necessary
  • Participating in prestart meetings
  • Champion site safety
  • Demonstrate the values of Safety, Partnering, Accountability, Leadership and Excellence

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • A trade qualification in a Mechanical / Technical field would be highly desirable
  • Training and experience in truck and ship loading, as well as wharf duties is bonus but not required
  • Experience in chemical handling facility operations desirable
  • Understanding of handling Dangerous Goods and Hazardous chemicals
  • Computer literacy
  • Physically fit and ready for a hands-on job.
  • Valid forklift license or willing to obtain
  • Confined space training certification or be willing to obtain
  • Willingness to complete a police check and drug and alcohol test.
