Introduction

  • Coordinates between the Senior Transport Supervisor/Senior Foremen and Contractor personnel, the mechanical maintenance and repair works of all leased vehicles of Doha Facilities including but not limited to shift, commuter & shuttle buses, light vehicles, pickup trucks, saloon vehicles and general taxi vehicles.
  • Ensures good housekeeping, quality control and safe working practices.
  • Works according to general instructions and established procedures; uses own initiative to generate own ideas concerning work and work improvements.
  • Should possess technical knowledge of vehicle inspection and maintenance.

What are you going to do 

  • Provides overall coordination of activities within area of authority.
  • Coordinates through the Senior Transport Supervisor the distribution of leased vehicles with in departments located in Doha Facilities.
  • Coordinates through the Senior Transport Supervisor and third-party Technical Inspection Company the renewal of all technical inspection certificate for all leased vehicles.
  • Coordinates between his Senior Foreman and Government registered driving schools, provides booking for personnel to attend driver training courses.
  • Receives verbal instruction from Senior Transport Supervisor to carry out inspections on vehicles serviced and maintained by third party contract personnel.
  • Test drive's all leased vehicles after maintenance repairs have been carried out by third party technicians.
  • Carry out weekly inspections on hired buses operating between for Doha locations and carry out spot checks on subcontract drivers and ensures their licenses are applicable for the type and category of the vehicle they are operating.
  • Observes and ensures that all contract personnel involved in the maintenance repair and washing of leased vehicles comply with all Security and Safety rules, including the use of protective clothing, foot ware and head protection.
  • Ensures that all contract personnel involved in the maintenance repair and washing of leased vehicles are in compliance with all regulation on the disposal of waste oil & water and work in compliance with environmental regulations.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Completion of Intermediate school (9 years education followed by 2 years formal training in vehicle maintenance) with 3-5 years of experience in vehicle/equipment maintenance and repair work.
  • Fair in spoken and written English.
  • Work experience in SAP Fleet Management System and can produce various types of fleet reports.
  • Proficiency in the use of PC Windows MS Word, Access, Excel and Spreadsheets, Forms design and other Presentation programs Power Point, MS Visio etc.
  • Must possess a valid Qatari driving license.
