Essential skills and knowledge
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 15 years in Oil & Gas, including 10 years specialized in subsea commissioning of pipelines, flowlines, and umbilicals, and preferably 8 years in a lead role.
Proven ability to plan, prepare, and execute commissioning activities from engineering through handover, covering procurement, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
Strong technical expertise in subsea systems, including pigging (ILI), flooding, cleaning, gauging, hydrotesting, dewatering, drying, nitrogen/MEG preservation, and long-term preservation of flowlines and umbilicals.
Extensive experience in multibillion-dollar offshore pipeline and umbilical installation projects, with capability to review and approve engineering and commissioning documentation (P&IDs, plans, procedures, certifications).
Excellent knowledge of HSE compliance, SIMOPS, risk management, and ability to lead offshore commissioning campaigns while supervising contractors and ensuring QA/QC standards. Offshore survival certification (BOSIET/FOET + CA-EBS preferred).
Expertise in subsea tie-in and connection systems, including spool piece installation, flexible jumpers, and integration of umbilicals with subsea control systems, ensuring full functionality during commissioning and handover.
