Introduction

On behalf of Woodside, we're recruiting a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the team in their Perth CBD office. This position will be within the Onshore Projects Engineering Team and will be primarily involved in supporting capital projects, emissions reduction and infrastructure management scopes

What are you going to do 

  • Manage technical integrity by ensuring the safe and consistent application of Company and regulatory codes, standards and good engineering practices;
  • Develop/review/update Bases of Design;
  • Identify design requirements and provide input to project scopes of work;
  • Guide engineering contractors to deliver the agreed scope of services;
  • Work with contractors to find fit-for-purpose solutions to problems;
  • Review mechanical engineering deliverables and provide technical feedback;
  • Participate in risk reviews, e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA;
  • Provide advice on technical integrity, including the use of standards, and review and resolution of TDRQs;
  • Review and accept As-Built safety critical deliverables;
  • Support Project Engineers to deliver Projects in a timely and cost-effective manner;
  • Support the Operations Readiness team, and;
  • Provide technical support for site-based delivery, for construction, inspection, commissioning and handover activities

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong Process Safety mindset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and stakeholder management
  • Working within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Prior experience in LNG plant design and/or operations is strongly preferred (but not essential)
