Introduction

  • Plan, direct, co-ordinate and supervise all safety activities to ensure that applicable LNG safety standards are, achieved and maintained at Onshore Projects.
  • The role operates independently within agreed program strategies, participate in plans and budgets and to the development of these.
  • Require the ability to forecast emerging regulations regarding Safety, prepare plans to communicate them and develop proactive strategy to adherence.
  • Require to ensure proper implementation of LNG Safe Workplace Practices program in the area of responsibility.
  • Champion of development of periodical Safety reports that identifies critical activities highlights safety concerns and attention; are communicated, followed-up and documented in a timely manner.

What are you going to do 

  • Provide safety input and review during all project phases (i.e., FEED, EPC, Commissioning and Start-up).
  • Plan, direct, co-ordinate and supervise the activities of assigned personnel in the on-plot or the off-plot areas and align the Safety training, and Safety Shutdown teams in key areas of Safety Health and Environment.
  • Act as a focal point for all departments in analysis of safety information, trends, and prevention techniques.
  • Plan and implement techniques for effective risk and hazard identification and control to ensure the health and safety of all people on LNG facilities.
  • Lead periodic reviews, audits and inspections of plant facilities to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices encompassing personnel and equipment safety, industrial hygiene, fire protection, loss prevention, and emergency preparedness.
  • Plan, develop and implement Safety Procedures to meet the requirements of LNG Safety.
  • Manage incident prevention, plant safety inspections, safety recommendations, safety materials, and equipment.
  • Provide support for Safety section budget preparation and management. Monitor expenditure and justifies variances.
  • Ensure the safety training program is aligned to the requirements of the Safety Section and the Safety Officers that are employed within it.
  • Establish standards and policies within the company that will ensure compliance to the State SHE regulations, internationally recognized SHE standards and best practices.
  • Maintain the communications efforts to all parties within areas of responsibilities in particular asset management of the legal implications of unsafe acts and conditions and the need of addressing SHE concerns in a positive, effective and efficient manner to prevent reoccurrence.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Safety discipline.
  • 8 years of related experience with 5 years in a supervisory level in petrochemical, oil and gas industry with special emphasis on safety and operations.
  • Good organizational, communication, and supervisory skills. Decisive with strong management skills, self-motivated and the ability to provide added value within a team.
  • Very good knowledge of written and spoken English with ability to produce procedures and technical reports.
  • Very good knowledge of Word, Excel spread sheet and Visio software.
