Introduction

The Production Technology Manager will lead the design and implementation of production enhancement strategies, including artificial lift systems, well interventions, and enhanced recovery techniques. They will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams-reservoir engineering, drilling, completions, and operations-to ensure seamless integration across the subsurface and surface value chain.

What are you going to do

  • Lead and oversee all production technology activities to support effective well and reservoir management, ensuring optimal recovery and long-term field productivity.
  • Design and implement advanced strategies for well stimulation, artificial lift selection, sand control, and production optimization, tailored to both mature and new field developments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with subsurface, drilling, completions, facilities, and operations teams to deliver integrated field development and production enhancement solutions.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and deploy emerging production technologies, tools, and techniques to improve flow assurance, reduce intervention frequency, and maximize production uptime.
  • Analyze real-time and historical production data, including nodal analysis and production system modeling, to identify bottlenecks and implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on technical mentorship and coaching to junior and mid-level production engineers, fostering knowledge transfer and capability development within the team.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE standards, internal company policies, and local regulatory requirements, including those from SKK Migas and other government agencies.
  • Engage with regulatory authorities and external partners, where required, to align on technical submissions, field activities, and reporting obligations.

Essential skills and knowledge

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Reservoir Engineering).
  • Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in production technology or production engineering, preferably within onshore and/or offshore oil & gas operations.
  • Proven track record in delivering well interventions, artificial lift design, sand control, and production enhancement initiatives with measurable impact on production performance.
  • Technical proficiency in nodal analysis, integrated production modeling, and tools such as Prosper, GAP, MBAL, or equivalent; familiarity with reservoir simulation workflows is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with subsurface, drilling, completions, and operations teams in high-performance, multidisciplinary environments.
  • Experience working in Southeast Asia or similar operating environments is preferred.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken); Bahasa Indonesia proficiency is an advantage but not required for expat candidates.
