Production Start-up & Transition Senior Engineer - LNG Trains (12-Month Renewable Contract, based in Milan)

This is an opportunity to play a key role in bringing world-class LNG facilities into operation, supporting commissioning, start-up, and early production performance.
Responsibilities
Support verification of contractor compliance with contractual obligations and LNG train readiness prior to handover.
Develop subsystem start-up sequences and participate in preparation and execution of critical commissioning activities.
Review commissioning completion dossiers, punch lists, operating manuals, procedures, and key as-built documentation.
Participate in the development, validation, and optimisation of start-up and operating procedures.
Take part in walk-downs, system testing, and verification of ESD, EDP, and fire & gas systems.
Define and coordinate vendor mobilisation plans for post-handover activities.
Lead LNG train start-up activities following handover in close coordination with production teams.
Participate in SIMOPS meetings and ensure vendor mobilisation and reporting requirements are met.
Support execution of performance tests and review final reports.
Identify process improvements and propose operational or procedural enhancements based on plant performance.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting during early operations and plant modifications.
Assist with planned shutdown preparation and warranty claims by providing technical input.
Ensure compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and environmental standards, contributing to continuous safety improvement and ISO 14001 requirements.
Requirements:
Master's degree (or equivalent) in Applied Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
Minimum 15 years' experience in start-up and operations of LNG production plants.
Strong knowledge of LNG plant processes, commissioning, and start-up operations.
Excellent understanding of HSE and environmental management systems within the oil & gas sector.
Experience with Permit to Work (PTW) systems in oil and gas operations.
Strong technical problem-solving and operational support capability.
Proficiency in standard computer applications (MS Office or equivalent).
Excellent written and spoken English.
