Introduction

Our client, a well-established underground gold mining operation in Québec, is seeking a Production Geologist to support daily mining operations. Reporting to the Senior Production Geologist, this role is responsible for geological follow-up of development and production stopes, interpretation of mineralized zones, and quality control of underground sampling. The Production Geologist plays a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and optimized production.

What are you going to do

  • Conduct daily underground geological follow-up, including face mapping of development headings and production stopes. * Perform sampling, data compilation, and preparation of daily geological reports.
    * Provide geological information to the engineering team to support development and production planning (ore boundaries, grades, etc.). * Update the geological model as new data becomes available.
    * Compile, enter, and manage drillhole data within geological database systems. * Develop, implement, and monitor standards and procedures related to mapping, sampling, labeling, and sample storage.
    * Work closely with operations, engineering, and geology teams to support efficient mine operations. * Maintain a safe work environment and comply with health, safety, and environmental policies.
    * Perform other related duties aligned with production geology responsibilities.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or equivalent education. * Member in good standing with the Ordre des géologues du Québec (OGQ) or eligible for registration.
    * Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role (asset). * Experience in underground gold mining operations (asset).
    * Proficiency with geological and database software such as Leapfrog, AutoCAD, Datamine, and Microsoft Office. * Solid understanding of mining geology and gold deposits.
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Ability to work effectively in a team-based, fast-paced operational environment.
    * Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety. * Bilingual French/English (asset).
