Brunel has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager with our client who is a leading, global mining and metals company.

What are you going to do

Essential Functions:

Coordinate project procurement activity with the Project Manager and the procurement lead. Assist team with contract development, negotiations with contractors, and expediting deliveries.

  • Engage EPC and Project team members to ensure project development plans, requisitions, contracts and payment systems are implemented in accordance with the company's established policies, procedures and business practices
  • Communicate procurement needs to the Engineering manager and Global Supply Chain to ensure timely and adequate support for the project management team
  • Manage procurement services with the project manager and external contractors or suppliers to develop workable contracts that provide maximum protection for the company within necessary time constraints
  • Develop tracking controls systems to ensure efficient execution of the project
  • Collaborate with Global Supply Chain leads to ensure that we source from reputable suppliers and take advantage of negotiated volume discounts
  • Consult with the Project Contracts team to develop contracting procedures and processes that assure clarity in contract language
  • Performs other duties as required

Criteria/Conditions:

  • Ability to communicate clearly regarding job assignments, job procedures and applicable safety standards
  • Must be able to travel domestically

Essential skills and knowledge 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED and ten (10) years' experience in inventory management, systems & project management and analysis projects required, OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and eight (8) years' combined experience in inventory management, system & project management and analysis projects required, OR
  • Master's degree in Business, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline and six (6) years' combined experience in inventory management, system & project management and analysis projects required
  • Knowledge of corporate governance policies, protocols and procedures for effective compliance
  • Interface with project controls and accounting, Global Sourcing, and corporate financial groups
  • Ability to support project team members and interface with suppliers and contractors
  • Ability to take a leadership oversight role
  • Excellent software and documentation skills
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and verbal
