Introduction

Join our client's Perth engineering team as a Package Engineer, delivering major mining projects. In this client-side role, you will lead tendering, contractor engagement and manage engineering packages from concept through execution.

What are you going to do

As a Package Engineer, you will manage the delivery of engineering packages across major mining projects, including work on a greenfields mining development. Reporting to the Manager Engineering, you will lead the tendering, award and delivery of packages from early study phases through to construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing engineering packages across the project lifecycle, from concept and studies through to execution.
  • Developing scopes of work, technical documentation and tender packages.
  • Leading the technical tender process, including contractor engagement, evaluation and recommendations.
  • Managing contractor performance, including progress meetings, technical reviews and issue resolution.
  • Coordinating internal disciplines to ensure timely review and approval of deliverables.
  • Monitoring safety, quality, schedule and cost outcomes for assigned packages.
  • Supporting site activities and stakeholder engagement during construction and commissioning.
  • Ensuring alignment with Safety in Design, risk management and project governance processes.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in project or package engineering within mining, materials handling, crushing and screening, conveying, stockyards, watersystems, pumping and fixed mainintenace facilities.
  • Experience managing engineering packages and technical tender processes on major projects.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery across study, design and execution phases.
  • Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple packages, priorities and deadlines in a dynamic project environment.
