Introduction

As Management Accountant, you will act as a key financial advisor to our Operations, Supply Chain and Finance teams. You'll lead the month-end close process and deliver clear, accurate financial reports that guide decisions on costs, margins and profitability across Australaisa. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role suits someone with a strong accounting background and a passion for supporting a large, multi-country operations business.

What are you going to do

  • Finalise monthly management accounts, adhering to US-GAAP and company policy.
  • Perform detailed variance analysis versus budgets and forecasts, by product line and country.
  • Post month-end entries including accruals, prepayments, revenue adjustments and inter-company settlements.
  • Support the annual budgeting process and maintain rolling forecasts for the Australasian region.
  • Analyse key drivers such as rig activity, service utilisation, inventory use and labour costs - delivering scenario-based cost and profitability forecasts.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain and Field Service to monitor job costs, track inventory movements, and implement measures to control costs.
  • Provide financial input for tenders, pricing decisions, capital-investment proposals, and ad-hoc analyses for senior leadership.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field - CA or CPA preferred.
  • Strong experience in accounting or management reporting, ideally in oil-field services, energy, engineering or industrial sectors.
  • Strong understanding of US-GAAP with experience managing accounts for multi-entity, multi-currency operations.
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger maintenance, inter-company accounting, journal entries and month-end close processes.
  • Proficient in Excel and financial modelling; familiarity with JDE/Hyperion and data analytics tools (e.g. Power BI) is highly regarded.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving operational environment.
  • Strong stakeholder-management and communication abilities, enabling collaboration with diverse teams across functions.
