Introduction

  • The Lifting Specialist is responsible for the review and audit of lifting equipment and personnel, lifting plans and lifting procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational requirements.
  • The role requires expertise in heavy and critical lifting operations, in fabrication yards & offshore
  • The Site lifting Specialist position requires solid technical experience, effective communication skills, and ability to solve problems and to propose mitigations measures.
  • The work will be executed in the fabrication yard and offshore where the Site lifting specialist will be subject to be assigned to throughout the project execution phase.
  • The Site lifting Specialist must be able to manage the respective priorities, drivers, and challenges and manage site constraints in close collaboration with PMT and other stakeholders while maintaining focus on safety, quality and planning.
  • The Site lifting specialist should ensure the readiness of the Contractor, supporting and fulfilling the Company requirements.

What are you going to do 

  • Ensures all lifting activities are performed safely and as per the contractual requirements and in compliance with government regulations.
  • Provides safety, Health and Environmental leadership by example to the Project Team and contractor, its sub-contractor and site vendors.
  • Monitor and assess the lifting activities of the Contractor/Subcontractors to ensure that they comply with contractual requirements, project documentation and applicable International Standards.
  • Coordinates with Major Projects & Head of Lifting, Construction Manager and Contractor for lifting related issues.
  • Ensures contractors’ processes and procedures are effective and meet COMPANY requirements and government regulations.
  • Participates in audit of lifting equipment, including Subcontractor’s equipment.
  • Performs surveillance of the lifting equipment and verifies its condition and validity for continued use.
  • Reviews and approves the technical documents related to lifting operation and assurance. (e.g. Procedure, Method statement, Lift plans, calculation, lifting equipment certificates dossier).
  • Participates in the development of the JSA (Job Safety Analysis) to ensure all hazards have been clearly identified, captured and all mitigation measures have been identified.
  • Participate in RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) for Lifting incidents.
  • Participating in Risk Assessments kick off meetings and Pre-Job Meetings, Pre-SIMOPS visits, technical meetings etc. as required in accordance with the Company’s referential.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Diploma in Engineering.
  • 8 years experience in discipline & technical with Large Projects in oil and gas industry and at least 7 years of demonstrated senior field experience in lifting operations, lifting preparation (lift plans) and lifting supervision.
  • Experience in subsea, offshore and yard lifting activities.
  • Knowledge of the different types of onshore and offshore cranes.
  • Experience in lifting engineering (load curves, dynamic analysis review, rigging calculation, barge stability).
  • Preferably with experience in onshore and offshore lifting equipment inspection.
  • Good knowledge of international codes / Standards/ Recommended practices of API, LOLER, BS, LEEA, DNV and experience in regulatory compliance.
  • Familiar with DNV-ST-N001 and IMCA LR006.
