What are you going to do
- Assume responsibility and represent Design Department for all aspects related to highway engineering.
- Provide leadership in all relevant departmental functions.
- Lead external & internal coordination pertinent to highway inception & design.
- Review, comment, recommend acceptance or otherwise of related consultants' submissions
- Comprehensive responsibility for management and control of related functions in in-house projects, including detailed scope definition and initiation, work progress and completion and staff management.
- Liaise with utilities providers and other stakeholders.
- Performance of actual design duties as directed.
- Performance of other related duties as per management instructions.
- Supervise and control the activities of assigned personnel including allocating work and determining priorities
- Supervise a team of Engineers responsible for the review of designs
- To assist in initiating new work and preparation of design briefs to consultants
- Provision of technical advice
- Working knowledge of written and/or spoken Arabic would be advantageous
- Overseeing / preparing design reports, management or any other reports as directed.
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
- BSc/BEng or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- CEng, PE, PEng or equivalent Chartership is desirable
- Minimum demonstrable experience of 4 years as a lead senior Engineer
- 18 years of demonstrable relevant experience in design & construction of infrastructure projects, with satisfactory experience in all related disciplines
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience with management capacity.
- Very good knowledge and experience with international & GCC design and construction code
- Working knowledge of written and spoken Arabic would be advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
- Qualification in project management is considered an advantage
