Introduction

  • Leads Instrument & Control (I&C) Control System Integration Engineering activities for company's Onshore Project area’s ensuring technical requirements (e.g. project specifications, data sheets) fully comply with project deliverables and standardized processes and are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Steward Instruments & Controls engineering activities to ensure quality and timely delivery of Instruments & Controls engineering scope.
  • Drive the Contractor by providing clear guidance and facilitating resolution to issues to complete I&C Control System Integration engineering activities.
  • This role requires strong leadership to drive the Contractor to efficiently execute the I&C Control System Integration Engineering scope of work.
  • There are brownfield elements within the scope of work which will require interfacing and alignment with OPCO to tie-in into existing systems.
  • Multiple medium size Instruments & Controls scope; Must be a strong communicator and team player, able to interact closely with other discipline engineers to complete multi-discipline engineering activities.
  • Interacts with Company Operations and Stakeholder Engineers.
  • Required to contribute to other multi-disciplinary tasks whilst providing expertise in specialized area
  • Drive coordination and decision making with the MICC vendor.

What are you going to do 

  • Ensure I&C Control System Integration engineering activities are conducted in accordance with project specifications and approved variations if any.
  • Accountable for a quality design of I&C Control System Integration engineering deliverables, including design safety aspects and execution planning of I&C Control System Integration field activities.
  • Drive work execution, ensuring technical alignment and quality with various disciplines stakeholders from both PMT and Contractor.
  • Provides guidance to Contractor to complete I&C design per project specifications in a timely manner and provides clear direction when project instructions or specifications are not clear
  • Manage the Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) purchase order with the Contractor and System Vendor in accordance with the roles and responsibilities given in the contract to ensure safe and seamless integration of the systems without any disturbance to the existing operating facilities.
  • Drive the Contractor to develop plans and work schedules that ensure effective completion of project activities and provide data (narrative, charts, graphs), change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.
  • Support multi-discipline activities providing I&C expertise to other disciplines as necessary, in support of completing activities within schedule and making appropriate recommendations to management on I&C issues.
  • Key effort to support interfacing between key vendors and Contractor to ensure quality and execution objectives are met.
  • Leads brownfield interface coordination with OPCO to develop execution plans to tie-in to existing systems.
  • Participate in sharing lessons learned, together with capturing current lessons learned to benefit future projects.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation and Controls engineering or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working in Instrument and Controls Control System Integration, in a Major LNG Project with broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction and operations.
  • The experience should include time (5-10 years) spent in a major project construction / commissioning / start up experience.
  • Some operations and maintenance experience may be applicable, but the candidate should demonstrate contributions to installation, commissioning and first-time start-up of instrument and controls systems.
  • Previous knowledge of Smart Technologies such as Field Bus
  • Requires demonstrated broad Instruments & Controls Control System Integration equipment and systems experience (Emerson DCS & Triconex SIS, Virtualization) and familiarity with relevant manufacturing processes and relevant industry codes
  • Field commissioning experience desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills.
  • Strong technical, prioritization and management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, etc.
  • Good communication, influencing and interface skills.
