Are you a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or Auto electrician looking for your next challenge on a premier mining operation? Our client, a leading name in the resources sector, is seeking experienced and safety-driven HD Fitters & Auto Electrcians to join their high-performing maintenance team on a 7/7 or 5/2 Roster.

What are you going to do

You will be a key member of the site-based maintenance crew, responsible for ensuring the peak performance and reliability of a massive heavy mobile equipment (HME) fleet. This is a hands-on role where your expertise will directly impact site productivity.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing scheduled servicing, maintenance, and repairs on a range of heavy mining equipment, including:

    • Haul Trucks (e.g., Caterpillar 789/793/797, Komatsu 930E)

    • Excavators and Dozers (e.g., Cat, Komatsu, Hitachi)

    • Loaders, Graders, and other ancillary equipment.

    • Scrapers, including twin and elevated scrapers
  • Conducting diagnostics, troubleshooting, and fault-finding using modern technology and software.

  • Executing component changes and rebuilds (engines, transmissions, final drives, hydraulics).

  • Accurately completing job cards and service reports

  • Adhering to strict site safety protocols, procedures, and contributing to a zero-harm culture.

  • Working collaboratively in a team environment to achieve planned maintenance schedules.

Essential skills and knowledge 

What We're Looking For (The Essentials):

  • Australian Recognised Trade Qualification as a Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter (Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent) or Auto electrcial Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology

  • Proven post-trade experience maintaining heavy earthmoving equipment, preferably within a mining environment.

  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical aptitude with a focus on getting it right the first time.

  • Unwavering commitment to safety - a proactive mindset where you always "STOP and THINK."

  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening.

  • Current Driver's Licence.

What Will Set You Apart:

  • Specific experience with [e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi] equipment.

  • High Voltage (HV) / Low Voltage (LV) switching tickets.

  • Experience with diagnostic tools
