Introduction

Brunel has an exciting long-term contract opportunity for an Electrical Technician supporting our client who is a leading global mining and metals company.

This contract position will work on-site in Bagdad, Arizona, the working week is Monday through Friday, on a 4-week on-site/1-week at home not working rotational schedule. Travel accommodations, transportation, and a monthly stipend will be included.

What are you going to do

The Electrical Technician - Commissioning is responsible for executing field activities related to installation verification, testing, and energization of electrical systems and equipment.

The role supports commissioning team to ensure that all electrical systems are installed, tested, and function in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements, enabling safe plant start-up and reliable operation.

Key Responsibilities

Installation Verification

  • Verify installation of electrical systems and equipment, including:
  • MV/LV cables and cable trays
  • Switchgear, MCCs, and distribution boards
  • Transformers and UPS systems
  • Motors and field electrical devices
  • Ensure compliance with:
  • Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
  • Wiring and termination drawings
  • Cable schedules and layouts
  • Check terminations, glands, labeling, and earthing/grounding.

Essential skills and knowledge 

Education

  • Technical Diploma / Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (or equivalent 3 years of field experience)

Experience

  • Minimum 3-8 years of experience in electrical installation or commissioning
  • Experience in EPC or industrial projects (oil & gas, power, mining, smelting, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with electrical systems and equipment

Soft Skills

  • Good troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Good communication skills

If candidate is not local to the area, client will provide accommodations and travel for a 4 week on, 1 week off not working rotation, along with monthly stipend for living expenses.
