Introduction

  • Provide front line safety and technical leadership.
  • Ensuring safe effective and efficient execution of Mechanical Package installation activities in accordance with the project schedule and compliance to safety, quality and technical policies procedures and standards.
  • Work in a highly visible project environment managing safe schedule delivery within lump sum contractual framework.
  • Managing leading and communication with multi-cultural teams with diverse cultures and behaviours.
  • Manage large area-based construction scope ensuring effective management of contractor including external and internal interfaces.
  • Multiple technical and non-technical interface requiring
  • Working with a large Contractor, organized as a Joint Venture requiring close coordination and interaction.
  • Lead direct and influence contractor in all issues related to construction activities to assure delivery of the project milestones to achieve schedule.
  • Achieve a smooth and flawless construction execution to Mechanical completion

What are you going to do

  • Provide visible safety leadership ensuring a culture of care for people and safety-first approach is established.
  • Ensure timely review and comment of related Mechanical technical and project non-technical documents submitted by Contractor.
  • Ensures all activities are undertaken in compliance with Company and contractually defined policies, regulations, and standards.
  • Apply contractual acumen engaging with Contractors on schedule, technical and cost issues.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships and open communications with contractor and company functional teams (safety, quality, engineering, business).
  • Attend activity planning and risk assessment meetings, assist contractor in identifying schedule mitigations and improvement.
  • Ensure safety processes and standards are maintained by assuring Contractor completes daily and weekly walk-through of construction areas.
  • Attend onsite workface planning and safety meetings and toolbox talks to ensure there is a clear understanding of the activities that are to be performed.
  • Assure project schedule compliance by working collaboratively with Contractor identifying construction constraints and mitigation actions.
  • Review of contractors daily weekly and monthly reports analyzing performance and verifying progress and status.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelors Degree in Sciences or Engineering.
  • 8 years' experience with Large Projects in Construction related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience of Mechanical construction installation hook up, pre-commissioning methods and ways of working preferably in a major LNG Project.
  • Mechanical equipment and systems experience and familiarity with relevant installation construction processes and relevant industry codes.
  • Experience with Oil and Gas companies, contractors, service companies, or heavy construction companies.
  • Knowledge of design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.
  • IT literacy: Word, Excel, PDF, skills to support reporting, reviewing and communication requirements.
  • Demonstrates sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read and translate approved for construction drawings.
  • Ability to use (Read) Navis works (3D model)
  • Ability to prepare, approve and /or verify piping fabrication plans.
  • Ability to work within document control systems reviewing, consolidating, and approving technical and project documents.
  • Ability to read and translate primavera schedules.
  • Ability to work within advanced work packing systems.
  • Ability to translate Mechanical design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, specific to onshore LNG facilities and utility systems.
