Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Advisor for a significant contractual role based in Maputo, Mozambique. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in negotiating commercial agreements related to various sectors including Exploration & Production and Marine Concessions with the Government of the Republic of Mozambique.

Duration: 12 Months (renewable)

What are you going to do

Assist in negotiations related to EPCC, Decree-Law, Marine Concessions, Financial Stability Agreements, Petroleum Law and Regulations, and LNG Project Agreement (if applicable).
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key government ministries and departments such as the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, National Petroleum Institute, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and several other relevant bodies.
Establish connections with staff from other concessionaires in Mozambique or abroad as required.
Enhance safety standards by acquiring HSE awareness through the One-MAESTRO framework and complying with mandatory HSE trainings.
Identify workplace anomalies and propose corrective actions.

Essential skills and knowledge

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Business or Law; Master's in Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
At least 10 years of business experience preferably in Oil and Gas, Energy or Heavy industry sectors.
Capable of managing complex negotiations with government entities on sensitive agreements.
Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships with government officials and other key stakeholders.
Adequate knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations; readiness to enforce safety standards diligently.
Must be fluent in both Portuguese and English
